Ability

Over the past 4 days I had the opportunity to attend a wheelchair camp. This was my second year. There were campers there that have been attending for over 10 years. I got to meet some incredible people and athletes. We played a lot of basketball, tennis, and rode handcycles. At this camp no one looks at our disablity, they look at our ability. The coaches and volunteers did not treat any of us any different then they would someone who could walk. I really liked that about this camp. It was also a lot of fun playing them in wheelchair basketball and smoking them :)
Before I was in a wheelchair I had no clue that there were that many adaptive sports. Now I enjoy playing them. It is so inspiring to watch all of the campers improve from the previous year. Some of them are crazy good at the sports. It inspires me to work harder.
I would encourage everyone to volunteer for the camp next year. It is only 4 days and they could always use the help. I promise it will change your life. For info about it click this link http://www.cityofboise.org/Departments/Parks/Activities/AdaptedRecreation/page4760.aspx

I know God put me in this chair for a reason and I am going to continue allowing Him to use me.

Miracle

So I spent half the day at the hospital yesterday with my cousin Andrew who was in a car accident. He suffered a broken back and head trauma, along with other minor injuries. (Here is a link to his website http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/andrewcrumrine)
I am so amazed at God's healing power. Andrew is now walking a little with an arjo walker and improving everyday. He has passed all of the expectations of his doctors. Goes to show that God is more powerful then some doctors think.
It is fun to go spend time Andrew because I had to lay in a hospital bed and do therapy also, so we can talk about our experiences. I also get to visit with the nurses and therapists that I had.
Andrew has a discharge date of July 3rd. Going from doctors not thinking he would make it past the first night to impressing everyone with his progress is awesome.
God works miracles!

Dune Buggy

So I bought this dune buggy and it is awesome! My family does a lot of camping and we would ride dirt bikes and 4-wheelers all the time. Well now that I can't ride those anymore I decided to get this buggy so I have something to ride.
It came from China and we had to put it together, and boy was that a task. The directions were not good at all but we managed to get it put together. I was hoping to get hand controls in it so I could drive but it is a 4-speed so I can't.
It has a 1100cc engine and goes bad fast :)

Proud Coach

Last night the JV team that I coach won their 2nd game. As a first year team they have exceeded all expectations. The final score was 9-2. I have been telling them all season that ground balls win games, and in this game they picked up 97 ground balls, which is unheard of.
In the pre-game practice I had them do a new drill to help the defense learn their slides. Well it worked because anytime the other team tried to dodge they got layed out. Two of my defenders finally learned how physical lacrosse is and they loved it!
Today we have another game I am hoping that we can get another win.
As head coach I could not be more proud of them!
GO FALCONS!!!!!!

Lacrosse

Coaching lacrosse is a big part of my life. I enjoy getting on the field and sharing my knowledge with my team. Also making them run is a lot fun :). The JV team has impressed me. They have improved so much and even have won a game in their first season. I am proud of them!
Season is almost over and next year I'll be head coach of Varsity :)
